Teachers in Romanian schools exceeded all our expectations. After participating in the training organized by The Open Network for Community Development Foundation within the “SOS Fire!” project, the over 45 teachers organized 45 activities during the “SOS Fire Week!” in the 20 schools enrolled in the project. So, using different methods from the educational box, they discussed with the over 800 students what dangers can exist in a home, how to avoid them, how to start a fire in a building, what to do if they are caught in a building where a fire broke out, what to do if it burns, how many tipes of burns there are, what firefighters do and what they should do if they want to become firefighters. We are proud of each of them and are happy to have found reliable help in preventing burns and fires.
“SOS Fire Week!” took place between May 24 and June 6, 2021. In preparation for these activities, each enrolled school received an educational kit that was created for primary and secondary school children. The activity was intended to be an awareness of the danger of exposure to fire, play with fire, inattention to exposure to flammable sources, etc.
We congratulate all future firefighters and thank all the teachers for their willingness to participate in our project and for organizing these wonderful activities in schools.
